REA has enabled me to see that, from a broader perspective, as Indigenous people, we come from wealth. It has reminded me to appreciate the richness of our culture, traditions, k’é (relationships), and the resources available within our communities. With this newfound understanding, I've been able to shift my mindset and become more accepting of the idea of wealth, not just in monetary terms, but also in terms of the abundance of knowledge, traditions, and connections that define who I am.”

Bernina Gray is a Diné entrepreneur and mother originally from Lukachukai, Arizona. Her journey into the tech industry is a testament to her dedication to learning and her unwavering commitment to growth. In 2018, she embarked on a transformative path by quitting her job and enrolling in a coding bootcamp with CNM Ingenuity, where she earned a certificate in Full-stack Web Development. Her approach to learning has always been immersive. Although she holds an associate's degree in business management, she didn't necessarily excel in academics. However, she discovered her true passion for hands-on, experiential education. This drive led her to a software developer internship, where she honed her skills and knowledge.

Bernina's journey continued with her transition to freelancing, where she delved into both software development and brand design. Her hands-on approach and determination to teach herself propelled her forward. In 2020, she reached a milestone in her career by founding nDigitize, a tech company dedicated to digitizing Native-owned businesses. She initiated this venture during the pandemic, driven by her desire to help businesses establish their online presence. In the process, she accumulated five years of invaluable experience in brand design, software development, UX design, and technology-related consultations and solutions.

Bernina's approach to education is ongoing and dynamic. Her commitment to self-learning is underscored by her current enrollment in Google's Data Analytics certificate course, further enhancing her expertise. This dedication to professional development is also evident in her participation in initiatives such as Project Dreamcatcher's Spring 2023 Cohort and Arizona State University's American Indian Policy Institute Indigenous Leadership Academy. Her passion extends to expanding her knowledge in the data and FinTech sectors, as she continues to create technology-driven solutions that empower and serve Native communities.
